I Gave My Room a Makeover

New year, new room! I’ve always shared a bedroom and bathroom with my sister, so her moving out is a huge change for me. I’m obviously going to miss her, but having my own space (and her own space) is long overdue. I decided to make the most of it by redecorating and rearranging furniture! My Experience as a Vegetarian

It’s been about 8 months since I completely stopped eating meat, so I have been vegetarian for almost a year now. As someone that loved McDonald’s and sashimi so much, I’m surprised that I was able to change. No, I don’t eat salads at every meal. I’ve learned how to cook more meals while figuring out how to order at restaurants without feeling left out. Continue reading “My Experience as a Vegetarian”

Transitioning to Vegetarianism

Whether you want to transition to be a vegetarian or you just want to cut down on eating meat and some dairy, the smallest efforts can make a positive difference for you and the environment. Before shying away at anything labeled ‘vegetarian’ or ‘vegan,’ know that some meals are vegetarian or vegan without intending on being so. Here’s an obvious disclaimer: I am not a dietitian or educated enough in any way for me to tell anyone how or what to eat. This is just me documenting my journey/attempt to eat vegetarian. With that being said, I am open to advice from my lovely readers! Continue reading “Transitioning to Vegetarianism”

Starting an Organization

The students at Lamar University are so diverse, and I think every community deserves to be represented equally. LGBTQ+ organizations have come and gone, so I decided to do what I could to bring it back. I tried my freshman year, but I didn’t have the resources I needed to bring it back. So, how did I start an organization at the college I go to? Continue reading “Starting an Organization”

Learning a New Language

Learning a new language is a goal for many, but it’s often put off for later in life or people have no idea where to start. Why not start now? I used to be someone who never thought I could even attempt to learn a new language, and I’m still blown away at the fact that I went from a baby with no comprehension of language to someone who is known for writing their own blog. If you have enough patience, passion, and motivation, then you’ll easily find success with your learnings. Continue reading “Learning a New Language”

Do you want to write to someone from another state or country but don’t know where to start? Do you think you don’t have the money to be a penpal? It turns out that there is not one way to write to someone, which means that your mail can be as simple or extravagant as you want. Having a penpal is about making a friendship and taking time to have fun the old fashioned way. College Tips from a Freshman

My freshman year of college is coming to an end, and I want to share how I figured out how to do well. I’ve really enjoyed the flexible, independent structure of college, but that can also be dangerous if it’s handled carelessly. I’m not a model, honor student, but the tips I want to share may be beneficial to you. Continue reading “College Tips from a Freshman”

Confidence in a Callous World

The first thing that comes to mind when I think of confidence is what someone thinks when looking in the mirror, but there are types of confidence in every aspect of life. There is so much hate that the world is projecting onto you, and not caring what everyone else thinks is the most admirable way to fight negativity with positivity. It’s tiring to follow what everyone else likes and does, but it is so liberating to stray from the path that is expected. I don’t see myself or anyone being able to be one-hundred percent confident all the time, so I’m making note of helpful tips to gain or regain faith in yourself.
